Position Overview: Gas & Chemical Engineer - Facilities Team
Tesla is actively seeking a skilled Gas & Chemical Engineer to contribute to the Facilities team at Gigafactory Texas. In this role, you will be integral in ensuring the smooth operation of gas and chemical systems, playing a vital role in Tesla's mission of sustainable energy. As a Gas & Chemical Engineer, responsibilities include various aspects of operations, maintenance, and process improvements related to gas and chemical systems.

Responsibilities: What You'll Do
Execute gas and chemical system operations, including monitoring, sustaining operations, maintenance, and process/equipment improvements.
Review and analyze data, monitoring equipment to identify trends and ensure processes are within specifications.
Apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis to open-ended problems.
Evaluate process requirements, specify new gas and chemical delivery systems, and support future scenario planning.
Coordinate commissioning of equipment and facilities, develop pre-startup procedures, and ensure operational readiness.
Prepare proposals for facility modifications, control & safety schemes, and process operating parameter enhancements.
Participate in Process Hazard reviews and analysis, including HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies.
Qualifications: What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years of gas and chemical systems operations experience; semiconductor facility, refining, or battery manufacturing facility support preferred.
Hazardous production material (HPM) expertise.
Strong data and system analysis skills.
Solid troubleshooting background and issue resolution capability.
High tolerance for change and strong teamwork and communication skills.
Experience in the design and installation of gas and chemical equipment, commissioning, and performance testing.
